I remember from my film days, when you wanted to develop, you entered the darkroom. It was just you, the light, the shadows, and the unseen potential of what you’d captured.
In film photography, the darkroom was where images were developed with intention. You didn’t rush the process because clarity depended on precision.
Alone in the quiet, surrounded by the smell of chemicals and the hum of anticipation, it was there that your vision (hopefully) came to life—slowly, intentionally, and unseen by others until it was ready to be revealed.
God often works the same way.

For two decades, I’ve led over 100 in-person workshops and retreats for women photographers at every stage of business. I’ve taught thousands of women how to build work that lasts, make decisions they trust, and carry leadership responsibly without burning out.
Alongside my work as a photographer and educator, I’m a certified mindset coach with focused training in the nervous system, which informs how I guide women through decision-making, pressure, and capacity. I understand how clarity gets blocked when the nervous system is overloaded, and how alignment becomes possible when safety and structure are present.
I’m here to guide the process, hold the room, and help you move from uncertainty into grounded decisions you can stand on—without rushing, fixing, or performing.

On Day One, we begin with a peer-to-peer brand shoot INSIDE the Retreat house. This is always everyone's FAVORITE part, hands down. We connect, we laugh, and we step into our clients’ shoes — gaining empathy for the vulnerability that comes with being on the other side of the camera.
Once the heat of the day cools, we
will venture into some cool spots in
the NOLA area for that perfect
backdrop this city is known for.
On Day Two, the experience shifts. Styled models are brought into the house at the group’s request (bridal, specific looks/vibe/gowns, etc).
You’ll photograph within the home’s rooms, along the window sills, beside the pool, and inside spaces designed with depth and warmth. The environment does much of the work, allowing you to create images that feel elevated, eye-catching, and confident.
Natural Lighting: Harness the beauty of soft, natural light to create ethereal, timeless images.
Authentic Posing: Master techniques for guiding your subjects into relaxed, natural poses that bring out their true essence.

What’s the difference between lodging and non-lodging spots?

Lodging attendees stay on-site in a private bedroom and receive the full retreat experience.
Non-lodging attendees participate fully in all retreat activities but arrange their own accommodations nearby. Non-lodging spots are limited to protect the size and intimacy of the room.
Check-in is on June 8 at 5:30pm. We’ll begin the retreat by breaking bread together with a meal prepared at the house, giving us space to connect and settle into the experience (by the heated pool, perhaps?)
Retreat sessions begin at 9:00am each day, and checkout is by 10:00am on June 11.
Because of the limited capacity and advance planning required, all payments are non-refundable. You are welcome to transfer your spot to another qualified attendee with prior approval.
My priority for this event is that attendees are in the commitment stage of their business, and being IN business is that first big commitment. If/when you are officially in a business would be a great time for you to join us (if the event is still available).
Bring your camera, a notebook, and anything you typically use to reflect or process decisions. You do not need to prepare presentations, portfolios, or materials in advance.
